The Bears represent strength and wisdom, and carry the teachings of the ancestors. Salmon represents survival, continuity and fertility of Body, Mind, and Spirit.
Called the Keith Jobson Award, this piece was designed for the University of Victoria to be presented yearly, to the top student in The First Nations Law Program.
This plaque and the interpretation are the creation of the artist, Herb Rice.
