The Three Figure
Killer Whale by Herb Rice

This piece is a 20 x 8" white pine wall plaque, based on Coastal Salish traditional artistic concepts, which makes an excellent wedding gift.

The Whale represents long life, not so much in terms of time but in how you live your life, to the fullest in every moment. The Eagle in the tail of the Whale represents freedom and vision. Freedom is acknowledging your own freedom first. When you are strong in this then you can share your knowledge with your environment. Vision is knowing that each decision you make in life will effect at least seven generations of your people. The Raven in the pectoral fin of the Whale represents the Trickster or the Teacher and whether or not we have learned from our past experiences.

This plaque and the interpretation are the creation of the artist, Herb Rice.
