|The Eagle Mask is 6" X 10" X 9" carved in red cedar.
The eagle represents freedom and vision; Freedom respecting individual first. When this is strong one can share knowledge and respect with all Life; Vision is knowing that every decision made effects at least seven generations of the people.
The Ceremonial Eagle mask was worn during specific ceremonies where the down of the eagle would be shaken from the top of the eagle mask by the wearer making a new softer floor for cleaning and making a new path for dancers.
In Herb's Coast Salish culture, the eagle represents freedom and vision.
This mask and the interpretation are the creation of the artist, Herb Rice.
