| The carved yellow cedar wall plaque, 4' in diameter is based on Coastal Salish traditional artistic concepts.
In this depiction, the moon represents the changing cycles of the environment. The Sun is the lifegiving force and is in its fall season. The ribbons of water coming from the noses of the salmon are representational of the four seasons of the year. The third season of course is the fall where the salmon are heading to there home rivers to mate. The salmon roe are depicted in this ribbon of water. The Salmon represent survival, continuity and fertility of body, mind and spirit.
All designs are interconnected and effect each others environment. This plaque and the interpretation are the creation of the artist, Herb Rice
