Response: | In order of preference, I use yellow cedar, red cedar and Vacouver Island white pine. I have also been known to use bass wood, alder wood and yew wood.

Response: | Yes I make my own blades. I also make sets of knives for other carvers. Check out my knives here |

Response: | For smaller indoor pieces I use acrylic waterbased paints. For outdoor pieces it varies. I use either oil based paints or good quality outdoor acrylic paints.

Response: | When the Europeans first arrived on this Island they did not use electricity. And neither did my people. Today, we all use electricity. I use electric lights, electric heat, and for large pieces electric tools to shape them done to a useable size. The actual carving and design I do with hand tools.

Response: | Traditionally black frames the internal designs, and red is the colour for the internal designs.
